Kim Kardashian Reveals One Controversial Parenting Decision That’s Turned into ‘A Blessing in Disguise’

Raising kids who have access to more technology, social platforms, and influence than we did at their age is hard — yes, even for celebrities. Kim Kardashian is used to navigating fame on reality TV, but YouTube and TikTok? That’s a completely different beast… and a topic that my pregnancy books didn’t even cover! The SKIMS founder revealed that she felt nervous over a controversial parenting decision she made with her 8-year-old son Saint, but that it’s actually turned into “a blessing in disguise.”

At Kering’s 3rd Annual Caring for Women Dinner in New York City on Monday, Kardashian opened up about her son’s new YouTube account called “@TheGoatSaint.” “It’s hard because I’m here, and I need to approve every video,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I will say, it has brought him and North [her eldest daughter, 11] closer together. She’s filming his content and making him do challenges.”

And like any mom would do, Kardashian had to capture this amazing sibling bonding moment herself. “I filmed some behind-the-scenes,” she admitted, “and it’s actually a blessing in disguise. I was fighting against this, but its working in my favor.”

Anything that gets our kids happily playing together is worth it. Not to mention, it sounds like Kardashian has safeguards in place to post the videos for him, much like she does with North’s TikTok account. The Kardashians star, who shares Saint, North, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5, with ex Kanye West, revealed Saint’s YouTube page on her Instagram story last week. “I finally allowed Saint to have a YouTube Channel after signing an extensive contract,” she wrote.

Kardashian shared a picture of the contract she made with her eldest son, writing, “Saint signed a solid contract for this YouTube Channel. He better not breach.” The rules in the contract include not commenting on any family or personal information, not filming his sister North while she’s recording music, showing his mom all the videos before posting, and more. And if he breaks the rules, Kardashian can make the page private or delete it. Sounds fair to us!

And hey, if it lets him express his creativity and bond with his sister, we’re on board too!
