When Simon’s career hits rock bottom, he’s approached by Eric Williams (his estranged, criminal brother, aka Grim Reaper) and a mysterious government-backed studio to star in a “hero biopic” where he will become a real superhero using experimental ionic energy. But what starts as a publicity stunt turns deadly when the powers become permanent—and unstable. As Simon navigates fame, real supervillains, and corporate manipulation, he uncovers a conspiracy: the studio is secretly creating enhanced individuals for political control, not heroism. Caught between his public image and moral responsibility, Simon must decide what kind of man—and hero—he wants to be. Along the way, he clashes with his brother Eric, who believes power should be used for dominance, and crosses paths with Vision (who in the comics shares a strange connection with Simon’s brain patterns), leading to philosophical questions about identity, fame, and free will.
