The Lands Between were once ruled by Queen Marika the Eternal, who maintained order through the Elden Ring, a powerful force that governed life and death. Marika’s offspring, the demigods, each held a fragment of the Ring, known as Great Runes. However, a cataclysmic event called the Shattering broke the Elden Ring, throwing the land into chaos as the demigods waged war over its remains. You play as the Tarnished, an exile summoned back to the Lands Between after the Shattering. Guided by the mysterious Two Fingers and the maiden Melina, the Tarnished embarks on a quest to collect the scattered Great Runes, restore the Elden Ring, and become the next Elden Lord.
