Little Nicky 2 (2025) | Adam Sandler

In recent weeks, social media has been ablaze with speculation following the viral circulation of a poster allegedly promoting “Little Nicky 2: Hell Takes a Vacation”, the long-awaited sequel to Adam Sandler’s bizarre 2000 comedy Little Nicky. The poster claimed that the sequel would arrive on Netflix in March 2025, with Sandler reprising his role as Nicky — the awkward son of Satan.

The image stirred excitement among fans of Sandler’s early-2000s era, reigniting interest in a character many had written off decades ago. But as the buzz grew louder, reliable sources stepped in — and the reality quickly came into focus.

 A Viral Campaign… Without a Studio

According to investigations from trusted entertainment news outlets including SnopesYahoo Entertainment, and The Direct, the poster in question is 100% fan-made, and no such project is currently in development. The artwork was manipulated from existing Little Nicky (2000) promotional materials and rebranded with a fake title and release date to appear official.

Netflix — the streaming platform supposedly attached to the sequel — has made no announcements regarding such a project. Likewise, Adam Sandler has offered no indication, hint, or comment suggesting he’s returning to the role of Nicky.

Past Failures, Present Curiosity

Little Nicky (2000) was widely considered a flop at the time of its release. Despite a hefty production budget (reportedly between $80 to $85 million), the film only grossed $58.3 million worldwide, failing to turn a profit.

Critically, the film was panned for its absurd premise and offbeat tone — with low scores on Rotten Tomatoes and widespread negative reviews. Yet, over time, Little Nicky gained a loyal following and was quietly elevated to “cult classic” status, admired for its unapologetic weirdness and Sandler’s fully committed (and deeply odd) performance.

That very cult status is likely what fueled the believability — and virality — of the sequel poster. In an era of streaming revivals and nostalgic reboots, why not bring back Nicky?

Adam Sandler and the Future of “Nicky”

Currently, Sandler remains deeply involved with Netflix through his long-term production deal. Several new projects are already underway, including Happy Gilmore 2 — the sequel to one of his most commercially beloved films.

In recent interviews, Sandler has made no mention of revisiting Little Nicky, and the character does not appear to be on the horizon creatively. Still, the public reaction to the fake poster — and the sheer volume of interest it generated — may serve as a signal: audiences haven’t forgotten this devilish underdog.

Conclusion: The Rumor Is Fake — But the Nostalgia Is Real

While Little Nicky 2 does not currently exist — at least not in any official capacity — the story behind its viral resurgence points to something more meaningful: audiences are still hungry for eccentric, offbeat characters, and many remain eager to see Sandler revisit the roles that defined his early legacy.

Unless a formal announcement arrives from Netflix or Happy Madison Productions, Little Nicky 2 remains a product of internet imagination — but one powered by genuine affection.
