As baby Kal-El arrives on Earth, he is adopted by the kind Kent family in Smallville, Kansas, and raised as Clark Kent. As he grows up, Clark discovers his superhuman powers—super strength, speed, flight, x-ray vision, and more—powered by Earth’s yellow sun. After the death of his adoptive father, he sets out to discover his purpose and identity. Eventually, Clark moves to Metropolis, takes a job as a reporter at the Daily Planet, and dons the secret identity of Superman, a heroic protector of humanity. However, he faces his greatest challenge when the criminal genius Lex Luthor devises a plot to destroy California by triggering a massive earthquake.
